A man broke his lower leg while fishing off rocks at Waihau Bay today and was flown to Tauranga Hospital for treatment.
The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched just after 11am after the 36-year-old slipped and injured himself.
He was stabilised at the scene by paramedics.
Meanwhile, the Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter also flew a 61-year-old woman who was suffering a serious medical emergency from Tauranga Hospital to Waikato Hospital on Saturday for specialist treatment.
