Man arrested after knife incident near Tauranga school - police

A man is in custody after police were called to reports of a person allegedly carrying a knife near Gate Pa School on Cameron Rd.

A police spokeswoman said a person who allegedly spotted a man with a knife and went to the school to notify police about 9.30am.

"The incident was not directly related to the school," she said.

Police took a man into custody as a result of the report.
