A 26-year-old man has been charged with aggravated robbery following an alleged incident at a liquor store in central Tauranga yesterday.
Police first received a report of a man hanging around the store "suspiciously", a police media spokeswoman earlier said.
Sometime later, about 1.15pm, the same man allegedly threatened the owner of a liquor store on 11th Ave and demanded alcohol, and was arrested nearby at 1.45pm, she said.
A police spokeswoman today confirmed the 26-year-old man, who has been charged with aggravated robbery, is due to appear in the Tauranga District Court tomorrow.
