Tauranga Intermediate School principal Brian Diver has resigned.
Diver announced he was stepping down after more than two decades as principal of the school at a special assembly this afternoon.
The school's Board of Trustees chairperson Kiri Diamond said Diver was appointed principal in 1994 and said the news was not unexpected.
"By next year he would have been with the school for 25 years," she said. "It has been expected."
Diamond said Diver had been a huge part of the school.
