The Tauranga Eastern Link was closed today after a logging truck lost its load.

Both north-bound lanes of the Tauranga Eastern Link closed after a truck crash this morning have been reopened.

One lane had been reopened to traffic earlier after a crash involving a logging truck shut the highway down this morning.

The truck and its lost load had blocked the road about 100m north of the Paengaroa roundabout.

Senior Sergeant Karl Konleachner said the trailer to the truck flipped about 7.10am.

Mr Konleachner said the expressway was closed while emergency services were dealing with the scene, on the north-bound lane.
