Police and emergency services are responding to three motor vehicle-related incidents, including a car involved in a collision with a light truck on the Lower Kaimai Range.

Sergeant Wayne Hunter told a Bay of Plenty Times reporter at the scene that the occupants of the light truck - a young man and his baby - which were travelling up the Lower Kaimai - were not seriously injured.

They were being treated at the scene by St John Ambulance personnel.

Mr Hunter said police were yet to speak to the occupants of the other car which had been heading in the opposite direction.

The second incident involved two motorbikes which collided on the corner of State Highway 2 and Te Karaka Drive about 5.43pm today.

A Northern Fire Communications Centre spokesperson said one motorcylist was injured, but the extent of their injuries were unknown at this stage.

Police, a fire truck and St John Ambulance personnel were still at the scene.

A third incident is understood to have involved a car hitting a bank in Oropi Rd.
