A whopping $2 million Lotto win from a ticket sold in Papamoa is yet to be claimed after Saturday night's draw.
The First Division win was a first for Pak'n Save Papamoa's Lotto counter and a huge excitement for the staff.
Lotto communications manager Katy Atkin said last night the winners had not yet come forward but thought they may leave town to claim their win.
Pak'n Save Papamoa owner Rob McGregor was excited to hear of the win, the biggest in the store's four-and-a-half-year history.
"I was thrilled, in part for the Lotto team down there. They'll be so excited. They always want to sell winners.
"Our main Lotto lady, Gloria, she just wants people to win. It's more than a job for her."
The $2m win was the only First Division winning ticket the store had sold and Mr McGregor was glad their ticket would change someone's life.
"It's fantastic that it's happened for someone out there. It's a good win, a life-changing win.
"People who come in and buy Lotto buy into the dream and the fact the dream has come true for someone is very exciting."
Mr McGregor hoped the win would go to a local, knowing the store had a lot of regulars.
Pak'n Save Papamoa Lotto supervisor Gloria Goebel said the staff were excited and called her as soon as they heard the news.
"We've all been hoping to get a really big win at our store and we're really happy for the winner, whoever it may be.
"I always said it will happen, it will happen soon."
It was the biggest win she had been a part of in her time working with Lotto and she was happy for the recipient.
She hoped they would come into the store to claim their win so the staff could share in their good luck and dream come true.
The Bay's Lotto luck did not end there, with a Waihi man taking home $175,000 with Lotto's Winning Wheel on Saturday's live Lotto draw.
Lance was looking forward to life in the fast lane after the win.
Summer beachgoers to Waihi may have recognised Lance from his long-term employment at Gasoline Alley.
"He is a big advocate for Waihi and loves the outdoor recreation the area has to offer, including surfing and walking," the announcement from Lotto NZ said.
As part of the Winning Wheel prize package, Lance and his mum Marie enjoyed a weekend of luxury at the Sofitel Hotel in Auckland's Viaduct Harbour. They were also treated to a shopping spree with a stylist and star treatment on the Lotto draw.
This week's Winning Wheel ticket was sold at Waterloo Lotto and Giftshop in Lower Hutt. The winning serial number is 487-43536132-20XX.
All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin Lotto's Winning Wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy.
Two people have died and others are injured following two crashes on Saturday.
