Lifestyles may need to change
On 21 December, 2020, a third Tauranga City councillor resigned, reasoning to avoid a costly by-election. My thoughts were similar. as a potential 2021 mayoral candidate, but more nominations made the by-election inevitable, thus I "threw in my hat" to be an effective advocate for the future of Tauranga region.
Tauranga deserves a robust transportation plan encompassing passenger rail about which I have outlined solutions and a vision for the greater public good In many letters.
With visionary leadership and decisions, the worthwhile end result will benefit all. Now in a climate emergency, we must proactively transition changes that minimise pollution, rubbish, plastics, consumerism and embrace sustainable new directions and planet-saving practices that achieve lower emissions.
Lifestyles may have to change to maintain a safe and liveable planet in our future journey.
