Three Waters reform is a con
The more we hear about Labour's proposal on the Three Waters for New Zealand the more it becomes obvious that the whole thing is a socialist con about control.
Even worse, the Government is dangling a carrot of taxpayer finance coupled with a short deadline for acceptance.
Water is one of the basics of having a local city council and the citizens need to keep control through its local councillors. Unfortunately, also due to the Government, we no longer have any councillors.
The Government appointed the city's commissioners so, in my opinion, there is no way that they should make this decision for Tauranga.
Perhaps they should delegate that power to a committee comprising the sacked councillors?
Preferably, simply say no. Any inequities, if Three Waters proceeds, can be rectified by a future National Government.
This is a very serious matter.

Population problem
The population of our planet, back in 1950, was approximately 2.5 billion people.
Today it is well over 7.5 billion. Clearly, something needs to be fixed - soon.
If the countries of the world were to unite, sensibly, feeding that number of people should not be a problem, however, greed, warmongering and bad management means that is out of the question.
We are shown very sad adverts every short while on the TV about millions of starving people - children, and this is very sad.
I love children, and in an ideal world every family should have several, however, to encourage large families is a very bad scheme, the world cannot support them.
With this in mind, surely, along with the vast amounts of food, should we not give vast amounts of contraceptives, encourage and make them available to every family, especially in more deprived areas?
