So last week I trotted off to a shop in Greerton. Being part of the Team of Five Million I stood at the shop door looking for the Covid app to scan. Nothing to be seen. Went inside and asked an attendant who directed me to a countertop. Nothing to
Letters to the editor: Covid-19 tracer app easy to forget
I read in Bay of Plenty Times (22 Jan), with surprise that the Bay Link roading project had all but doubled in cost and would take an extra year to complete.
One of the reasons given is that "We are investing in the mechanics (what are they?) and working to make sure that it is finished to the best standard and with the quality that we can."
This suggests to me the previous time span did not include recognition of these qualities!
It is also stated that the additional cost will be covered by "the agency", being Waka Kotahi New Zealand Transport Agency.
No, it is covered by the taxpayer as the "agency" is a distributor for the taxpayer funds.
Maybe they should not forget that point when they make such statements.
