TECT cheque Being a Trustpower customer like about 60,000 others I am the grateful recipient of the annual TECT beneficiary cheque.
However, for some years I have submitted to TECT that we should have options available to us as to how this annual payment is made. By just having the optionof a cheque means that we face the risk that the payment may go astray in the post and fraudulently used and also we have to queue up at the bank to lodge the cheque, etc.
For four years I have been told by the TECT Trustees that options will be provided to us but sadly nothing has been done to address these concerns.
Options should be either the current system, being by cheque or deposited directly to a designated bank account or credited to the Trustpower electrical account or by choice donated to a charitable organisation.
For the record, even the IRD no longer accepts or receives cheques yet the TECT Trustees continue to make this payment only by cheque which would be at a significant cost which in reality actually effectively reduces the payment amount.
Having the right priorities I was so encouraged to read of the wife's reaction to the recent winnings of Lotto winner Lou Te Keeti.
She is a gem to be appreciated. She has her priorities right and will be a blessing to her family by keeping those values, I am sure. It restores my faith in human nature.
Flu jabs With reference to your article (News, July 18) regarding GPs going down with the flu; we're told by GPs to have the flu jab to protect us from going down with the flu.
So have these GPs had the flu jab? If yes, why didn't it work? If no, why not when they're so eager for us to have it? (Abridged)
