A body cannot function well when its arteries are blocked and its lifeblood is slowed.
So too, our growing city cannot function efficiently when its arteries are congested.
I raise this matter because, daily, I am frustrated by Cameron Rd coming to a standstill.
Traffic backs up from 17th Avenue to 14th Avenue at times and the cross traffic is compromised at the lights.
This problem was caused, in my opinion, by a less than intelligent roading person, from the Tauranga City Council, who reduced the four lanes to two, from the hospital to Barkes Corner.
This blocked main road can be easily cleared as it has plenty road space for four lanes.
Simply remove the street parking from the hospital to Gate Pa and return the rest to the four lanes that previously existed.
Our city cannot function efficiently with blocked arteries.
