"I think we still haven't played our best yet. I mean, if we can have a good, fast hard track there is more [we can do], you have seen glimpses of it but it's about doing that for the whole 80 minutes. So that is our goal," he said.
Wrapping up the minor premiership on Saturday had been pleasing.
"That was our first goal so our next goal is to finish strong next week against Otumoetai, irrespective of what the result is, and then really focus on our semifinal."
Now, he said, they had the option of resting players at the weekend, but they might choose to play their best team and seek to carry momentum into the finals.
"So that is the decision, do we go and give it to Otumoetai or do we just chill a little bit and preserve ourselves for the semis, but I think momentum is the key."
The semifinal picture is now much clearer in all three senior grades, with only one round remaining.
Pacific and Taupo Phoenix will get home semifinals in the premier grade against Pikiao (Rotorua) and Otumoetai respectively.
In the reserve grade, the Pacific reserves and Central Lions (Rotorua) will get home semifinals and will play the Otumoetai reserves and Reporoa Razorbacks.
In the division one competition, the Putauaki Stags (Kawerau) and Forestland Falcons (Tokoroa) have wrapped up the home semifinal spots and will play the Whakatane/Taneatua Warriors and Putaruru Dragons.
Putauaki still need to beat fourth-placed Putaruru this weekend to guarantee themselves the minor premiership in that competition.
