Firefighters are at the scene of a large vegetation fire south of Tauranga.
The fire is burning a shelter belt on Warner Rd, Oropi. Emergency services were called at 11.55am.
A fire communications spokesman said the fire was about 30m long and two trucks including a tanker were at the
scene.
An extra fire truck from Tauranga has been called in to help.
The spokesman said there was no risk to neighbouring properties at this stage.
