The authentic log-style hall was opened almost 40 years ago and is in dire need of maintenance.
Plastic downpipes have been torn off and some window sills are deteriorating.
The Sea Scouts started fundraising in July at the Bay of Plenty Tree Crops' Tree Sale.
Unfortunately, a wheelbarrow loaned by one of the parents for buyers to take their plants to their vehicles was taken. As a result of an article in the Advertiser, an elderly man gave his wheelbarrow for the parents to use and the Katikati Lions gave $100 from their Moggies Market. Others donated blankets to the club and a former Cub leader joined up to help.
The club's next fundraiser is Halloween Night on Friday, October 31 for children to come along and have fun at the Scout Hall.
Kea leader Deb Wilson says there will be a variety of activities in the scout hall, from balloon popping, sack races and face painting to mystery boxes, pumpkin shapes and a craft corner, with a best dressed competition for both age groups.
There will be a bouncy castle for children under six, and a sausage sizzle.
The aim is to have children up to Year 2 enjoying the activities from 4-5pm, then the Year 3-4 children from 5.15-6.15pm.
Entry is $5 each and tickets are being pre-sold at Katikati Primary School from Tuesday, October 28 to 31.
Deb will be at the school from 8.15-9am on each of these mornings.
