The victims of a serious crash which shut off one of Tauranga's main arterial routes yesterday are still recovering from their injuries today.
State Highway 29 was closed for more than an hour yesterday in the Kaimai Range after a black Nissan with four women inside was in collision with a Toyota ute.
The Nissan's driver who is believed to be in her 20s or 30s remains in a critical condition this morning at Waikato Hospital.
The Nissan's three other occupants were taken to Tauranga Hospital.
A 26 and 24-year-old have been discharged but a 23-year-old remains at hospital in a 'stable' condition, hospital communication advisor James Fuller said.
