A group of Tauranga children got their hands dirty dying and painting eggs, baking Judas cakes and plaiting traditional Czech Easter whips as they celebrated Easter Czech style.
The Czech and Slovak Club had about 20 children at the event in the Matua Community Hall yesterday.
William Benes got stuck in using the end of a pin to paint melted wax on to egg shells before dipping them in dye to create beautifully patterned ornaments.
The kids then twisted dough into knots to make Judas bread and finally twisted eight suppled willow branches into a whip.
