The wheels just keep on turning at Tauranga Hockey.
The association, which can currently lay claim to national representatives Gemma Flynn, Samantha Charlton, Rosie Keddell and Andy Hayward, might just have a new poster child on its books.
Hamish McGeorge has been selected to the New Zealand under-18 TigerTurf men'steam and is well aware of the well-worn pathways blazed by the club's collection of international athletes.
"I am excited and honoured to have been selected by Hockey New Zealand for the Australia Tour in February 2014," McGeorge said.
"My dream to one day represent New Zealand is one step closer.
"I am privileged to be one of the few males from Tauranga in recent years to be selected to represent New Zealand at any international level and feel honoured by this.
"Black Stick Andy Hayward is the last Tauranga Boys' College player that currently represents New Zealand and I aspire to follow."
Tauranga Hockey Association general manager Clyde du Toit was thrilled with McGeorge's selection and appealed for donations through an online fundraising website to help cover expenses.
