A young Papamoa boy who captured the hearts of the Western Bay of Plenty community has died.
Harrison Mundy, 11, was last year diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma - a rare form of bone cancer.
Harrison lost his fight against it yesterday, dying peacefully at home with mum and dad Hayley and Allan Mundy.
Mr Mundy is well known in the Bay for his contribution to Surf Lifesaving New Zealand and there have been several community fundraising events to help Harrison in his journey.
Harrison's funeral will be held next Monday.
