BOGEY: Rob Terry says others are worse off.

BOGEY: Rob Terry says others are worse off.

Thursday's tornado has caused an estimated $100,000 worth of damage to the Snappers Golf Driving Range, says co-owner Rob Terry.

The devastation left in the wake of the tornado included half of the roof covering the driving range being ripped off with parts landing on the roof of the golf range house or in nearby trees, leaving exposed live wires.

Mr Terry said all the nets on the western side of the driving range were also ripped down, while others were left with huge gaping holes, and a toilet vent also ripped off, resulting in an exposed sewerage pipe.

"I'd say this is a probably a two-week repair job but we might be able to re-open part of the range by the end of next week," Mr Terry said.

Yesterday, builders were already on site to begin repairing the roofing.

The damage was upsetting but there were people far worse off than him.

"This is nothing compared to what the people of Nepal are going through. Many people lost their lives, homes and total livelihoods.

"We can rebuild and will bounce back from this."
