Long before Lydia Ko was born, a Tauranga golfer reigned supreme as the top women's player in New Zealand.
Now Jan Higgins (nee Cooke) is back home after a gap of 27 years coaching golf in Auckland, to take up the role of club professional/coach and manager at Otumoetai Golf Club.
Her appointment is a massive boost for current and future golfers at Otumoetai.
Recently she set up GOLF IQ Academy based in Botany, which she was eager to get started here.
"It is aimed at the next level of kids from the beginners and getting them ready to play at a club. One of my goals here is to set up a really good junior programme and get it humming," Higgins said.
