The Campbell siblings' run at the New Zealand Mixed Foursomes has come to an end in the final against a highly fancied Titirangi pairing.
Alanna and Shaun Campbell fell 5/4 in the afternoon final to Auckland representatives Brittney Dryland and Johnny Tynan.
The win was particularly sweet for Dryland andTynan as they finished runner-up last year to Kimberley McPhatter and Josh Leitch, who themselves were knocked out by the Campbell combination in the semifinal. It is the second time the surname Tynan has graced the Salver, following Johnny's parents, Rachel and Peter, who won the championship in 1990 at the North Otago Golf Course. The result is just the latest in a fine year for Year 11 Aquinas College pupil Alanna. The youngster played alongside top amateur Brooke Henderson at the inaugural World Junior Golf Championship at Angus Glen Golf Club in Ontario, Canada, less than a month ago after a strong season in Australasia.
The Bay representative claimed the Victorian Junior Masters earlier this year and continued that form back home with seven top five finishes, including a win in a play-off at the Bay of Plenty Open.
