Parents are advised to cast a watchful eye at Tauranga parks and reserves after glass was found inside a slide at The Strand's waterfront playground.
Tauranga City Council parks operations team leader Steve Webb said it received a complaint about the glass on Good Friday.
"There was some glass on the playground so our contractors went out and they were there for 15 to 20 minutes after getting the call," Mr Webb said.
"They found somebody smashed something like a glass bottle, like a stubbie. There was glass at the top of the slide, down the slide and in the safety surface at the bottom, so they closed that part of the playground off and cleaned it."
The playground was now open again.
