It's likely the sun will be shining over Tauranga most of Christmas Day.
MetService meteorologist Chelsea Glue said there should be fine spells tomorrow and light winds with afternoon sea breezes.
"There could still be a bit of cloud around, and the same for Friday, although there could be a northeasterly developing.
"Thursday and Friday, there will be morning cloud and then it should become fine. Showers will be mostly inland Bay of Plenty, so there may be a bit of cloud around."
A maximum of 22C was expected today, Friday and Saturday, with tomorrow's high expected to be 21C.
