Firefighters attended a small gas leak at a Greerton petrol station this morning caused when a customer drove off with the petrol nozzle still attached.
A Northern Fire Communications spokesman said the small gas leak happened after a car drove off with the LPG nozzle still attached and ripped it off about 7.30am.
"The fire brigades attended and contained what was a minor spill," the spokesman said.
The petrol station was closed while firefighters contained the spill and cleaned up the area but was promptly opened again.
Two appliances from Greerton and Tauranga attended the incident.
