Tauranga had frosty start this morning, with temperatures dropping down to 2C in the early hours.
Met Service meteorologist John Law said a low of 2.1C was recorded at Tauranga Airport between 4am-5am this morning.
He said after yesterday's southerly, which brought some showers, the skies over Tauranga cleared last night and temperatures dropped.
Law said there were more cold mornings to come over the next few days with fine dry weather, clear skies and light wind forecast.
"As we go through towards the weekend, we're going to keep that cold air over us. So more cold and frosty starts coming up, but on the plus side, there's plenty of dry and sunny conditions during the day."
