From the news desk: volcanic ash

As we send today's edition of Bay of Plenty Times to the press, all the flights due to fly out of and into Tauranga are looking on schedule.
But who knows what the day holds?
On A5 you'll read about the Chilean volcano spewing out ash that is making its way into our air space thanks to the trade winds known as the Roaring Forties.
I think it's rather fascinating but I'm sure if you're due to fly today it's more a source of nervousness.
Travel agents in Tauranga have confirmed this morning that they are fielding calls from their customers due to take to the air.
