Until this morning I had no plans for the weekend.
But having just read Michele McPherson's story on page A5 in today's Bay of Plenty Times about tiramisu scrolls I have the first item for my weekend to-do list - visit Baker's Delight in Gate Pa.
The scrolls, invented by Tauranga baker Max Sommer, are described as being filled with a rich tiramisu-flavoured cream, topped with a cream cheese icing and dusted with cocoa powder.
Yum!
Michele's story is as inspiring as it is hunger-inducing as it tells of how Mr Sommer dreamed up the idea of the tiramisu scrolls which have now gone national and could eventually be sold in Australia and Canada.
I also found it fascinating that the scrolls were baked in a test bakery across the Tasman before they got the tick to be made in the franchise's New Zealand stores.
Luckily for us in the Western Bay, Mr Sommer is also making his roasted walnut baguettes, while the rest of the country will miss out because they are too expensive to take national.
Hopefully there will be a break in all this rain we're meant to get over the weekend so that I can add 'walk off tiramisu scroll' to the to-do list.
