As I drove over the Kaimais on Saturday morning, bound for a weekend in Taupo, it was pouring down.
Once over the Kaimais though, the sun was out and streaming through my car window. The windscreen wipers were flicked off and the sunnies put on.
Coming home to Tauranga yesterday the sunnies came off as I again hit the slippery Kaimais and had to put the windscreen wipers back on.
Who can complain about a bit of rain through when you see what Mother Nature is dealing other parts of the country.
In today's Bay of Plenty Times, we have the story of a New Plymouth woman who could only curl up and cower in bed as a tornado tore through her home, taking many of her belongings with it.
We also have the sad story of the landslide that took dad-to-be Hugh Biddle's life on Saturday and details of the latest aftershocks to hit Canterbury.
So although Metservice is forecasting more rain for our part of the country today I won't be complaining. Enjoy the start of your week in the beautiful (even when it's raining) Bay.
