We had our first reader attend one of our Tuesday afternoon news meetings yesterday - and it was a great experience for all involved.
Loyal Bay of Plenty Times reader Thea Straub sat around the news table with the paper's senior editorial staff and myself and helped plan today's paper.
Thea gained
a valuable insight into how we put the paper together and what influences the decisions we make. She was given a say on the stories we were working on and what should go on the front page.
Thea was also able to give me her feedback on the paper and even gave me a story idea.
She enjoyed it and I'd like to publicly thank her for taking time out of her busy day to visit us.
