I think Meat Loaf is one of those artists you either like or loathe.
For me, I used to love listening to his music.
When I was a kid, I would often crank up Bat Out of Hell on the stereo, with songs such as You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth and Paradise by the Dashboard Light.
Of course, back then we didn't have MP3 players or even CDs.
I had two Meat Loaf tapes and thrashed them until they stretched and sounded funny.
I once saw Meat Loaf perform in Auckland in the '90s. It was a great show but I must admit I haven't listened to him in years.
The good news for fans, as we report on page A3 today, is that the rock legend is reportedly coming to perform in Tauranga in October.
Details this morning are sketchy but news websites are reporting the tour.
I think I just might go along.
For me, this is the second piece of good music news this week.
Many of you will have read that Roger Waters of Pink Floyd fame is performing The Wall at Auckland's Vector Arena on February 19 next year.
Pink Floyd is my all-time favourite band and The Wall is a masterpiece.
I plan to be at that event.
Meanwhile, make sure you pick up tomorrow's Bay of Plenty Times Weekend. It is full of some great local features.
We will also reveal just how much weight Vanessa Pringle has lost.
Vanessa is doing a public weight-loss challenge. Plus don't miss our bumper 28-page indulge magazine.
