The event is based on the popular television competition and features local members of the Tauranga Rock n Roll Club partnering with local identities.
This year, these identities include Bay of Plenty Times reporter Genevieve Helliwell.
Today, she tells of preparing for the start of the big fund-raiser and how there is some sibling rivalry with another competitor - her sister Charlotte, from Classic Hits.
