I love heart-warming stories of people raising money for others.
And in today's Bay of Plenty Times, we have two great examples.
On page A2, we have the story of a Tauranga teen who spent 40 hours living on the streets and in his car as part of the 40-hour famine.
Otumoetai College student Jordan Carnie, aged 16, decided on a novel approach for this year's famine fund-raiser, which across the country aimed to raise $3.15 million for children in East Timor.
And on page A5, those who braved the icy plunge for this year's Heart Stopper Challenge also deserve a hearty pat on the back.
They helped raise $7000 for @heart, a charity that supports children with heart conditions and their families.
We have stories and photos on both Jordan's efforts and the Heart Stopper Challenge.
Well done to everyone involved.
If you are organising a local charity fund-raiser let us know and we will give it coverage.
Just email news@bayofplentytimes.co.nz with details of the event.
