As we arrived on the red carpet, surrounded by women in glamorous gowns and men in tuxedos, we knew it would be a special night.
The Skin Centre's Tauranga Charity Ball on Saturday was a star-studded evening but the calibre of the event - from the decorations to the entertainment - meant we all felt like stars for the night. Mark Fergusson, Jackie Clarke, Joe Cotton and The Mermaids and the Candy Lane dancers put on a spectacular show.
Local celebrities like Peter Williams also attended but the highlight for me was seeing NZ's Hottest Home Baker judge Jade Lipton. Looking stunning in a black gown with her hair swept up, she was every part the star.
But the evening was more than just glitz and glam - at the heart of the event was a charity auction raising money for isolation units in the children's ward at Tauranga Hospital.
And what a success it was - exceeding organisers' targets. Read more about the event here.
We also have coverage from other local events in today's paper including the Tauranga Wedding Show, Battle of Crete Memorial and more.
I hope you enjoy reading about them.
