Four scavenger hunts across the Bay of Plenty's bush, lake and beach reserves are sure to keep kids busy these April school holidays, as well as showcase natural gems of our region.
The scavenger hunts, at McLaren Falls Park, TECT All Terrain Park, Blue Lake and Ōhope Beach, encourage participants to solve clues, take photos and discover our local reserves and parks.
Sport Bay of Plenty's recreation team leader Sonia Lynds said the scavenger hunts were a fun and engaging way to explore parks of high conservation value across the Bay of Plenty, including areas that were not necessarily well known.
"We're so lucky to have a range of great parks and reserves to explore in our own backyard," Lynds said.
"The scavenger hunts have been one of our most popular activities encouraging people to get out and explore these regions, and they're a great excuse to gather the whānau and have some fun outdoors."
