Ensuring the future survival of Tauranga Riding for the Disabled is a step closer after the establishment of a foundation.
The Tauranga Riding for the Disabled (RDA) Foundation was launched last night at Farmer Auto Village.
It was established by trustees Tom Roper, Bill Chapman, Peter Farmer, Janine Hellyer and Tony Mills to create financial stability for the organisation, which provides equine-assisted therapy and rehabilitation to local people with disabilities.
Speaking at the event was Toby Lipinski, a Year 7 student at Bethlehem College, and his father Murray.
The 11-year-old has been attending Tauranga RDA for six years and said he had just about ridden every horse, from the little, short ones to some tall, fat ones.
