WaiBOP has proven no match for the New Zealand Development team in the ASB Women's League.
In the late game of the double header at Seddon Fields, the national development squad moved into third place on the ladder with a resounding 6-2 result.
Paige Satchell and Tayla Christensen, both from the Waikato BOP Federation, each scored twice while respective Football Ferns and age-group internationals Daisy Cleverley and Martine Puketapu also hit the back of the visitors' net for a 6-0 lead midway through the second half.
WaiBOP rallied in the final stages to get some respectability into the scoreline, with goals in the final five minutes to Ella Golding and substitute Lauren Henry good reward for some late hard toil.
Elsewhere, Mainland Pride recovered from a halftime deficit to beat Northern Football 4-1 and clinch a top-three spot, ensuring a win next up against Football South would see them into a second final in as many seasons.
