Reports of a chemical leak caused fire and emergency crews to rush out to Port of Tauranga early this morning.
A Northern communications spokesman told the Bay of Plenty Times investigations found the "chemical" leak was just water.
Four fire crews responded to the call at the Port of Tauranga at 3.17am today.
