A Tauranga man needed emergency hand surgery after an accident with a dropsaw.
The 30-year-old was airlifted from Tauranga Hospital to Waikato Hospital by the Trustpower TECT rescue helicopter today.
The helicopter was called at 1pm for the rapid response flight.
It was also in action on Sunday, transporting a 40-year-old Mount Maunganui man with a serious cardiac condition to Waikato Hospital for specialist treatment.
