An elderly man seriously hurt in a fatal crash on State Highway 2 yesterday remains in a stable condition at Tauranga Hospital today.
The 87-year-old had been travelling in a car with a female passenger who died at the scene.
Another five people were also taken to hospital but just suffered minor injuries.
Three Ngatea teenagers involved in a separate crash at Waihi last night were also taken to hospital.
An 18-year-old female remains in a ward in a stable condition. An 18-year-old male and 16-year-old boy were both discharged.
