Cruising the beach and streets to chat with people about how to make their summer in the Bay one to remember is a dream summer job for any young person.
But as two Tauranga women found out - it was not an easy gig to score.
Out of 87 applicants, Courtney McMahon, 22, and Jess King, 20, were two of only eight to secure positions as a Summer Ambassador for the Tauranga City Council.
"It's the best job ever, I don't want it to end," Miss McMahon, an event management and tourism student, said.
"We are here to advertise the Mount because there's so much to do here and people sometimes forget how much there really is," Miss King said.
