Dogs lovers from all over the Bay are invited to take part in a large collective dog walk through Te Puna Quarry Park.
The 'Western Bay's Big Dog Walk - Alfie and friends rock the Quarry' will begin at 8.30am on Saturday.
Hosted by Western Bay of Plenty District Council, the event is a chance for dog owners to meet and mingle, and for dogs to socialise.
It also marks the launch of the council's formal consultation on their draft Dog Control Policy and Bylaw with Alfie, the council's 'spokesdog', joining the walk.
Event organiser Emily Rogers said the walk was aimed at being a fun event for dog owners in the district.
