If you want to keep watching the box you have 12 months to make sure your television will pick up the digital signal.
Television in the Bay of Plenty on December 1, 2013 and Freeview or SKY will be required to stay tuned in.
"If you aren't already digital now is the time to start looking at your options and take action," said Going Digital National Manager Greg Harford.
All TV in New Zealand is going digital in stages with Hawke's Bay and the West Coast of the South Island, leading the way as the first regions to make the move earlier this year.
Over eight out of 10 homes in the Bay of Plenty have already made the move to digital TV and are enjoying better pictures and more channels.
