The mystery man known as ''Dave'' remains in Tauranga Hospital this afternoon.
A hospital spokesman said the 55-year-old. who collapsed in a central city business on Tuesday night, was today in a stable condition.
The man had been in a critical condition and only able to tell police his name was ''Dave'', sparking appeal from police yesterday for help to identify the man.
Tip offs to police resulted in them positively identifying ''Dave'' yesterday afternoon.
