The visit to Whangamata at the weekend by the highly skilled dance crew IDentity and sister crew Alias was a special treat for a number of wannabe hip-hoppers and others who appreciate watching the dance form.
IDentity and Alias, who are incredible exponents of hip hop, contemporary and tap dance, held workshops on Saturday and performed a show in the evening, which attracted just under 300 people.
Alias dance crew, which includes former Whangamata Area School student Kayla Paige Middleton, are an all-female dance crew and sister crew to IDentity.
They took second place at this year's national championships and qualified to compete at the world hip hop championships in Las Vegas, USA in August.
Their visit here with IDentity Dance Crew, the two times National Hip Hop Champions, was to help raise funds for their trip to Las Vegas in August where they will take part in the World Hip Hop Championships.
