"And performing alongside some pretty amazing artists," she said, excited to have Benny Tipene, Jason Kerrison and MC Tali in the line-up after her.
"It's a cool atmosphere. No one's stressed or worried about anything. People can just come and chill out, have a picnic and it's a cool family environment."
She hoped people would buy her new single so she could afford to fill up her car with petrol.
Tiki Taane took a step back from performing this year to help co-ordinate the artists and allow for some new faces, including his son's school choir.
"Just to spread the love through the community, you know, they don't have to be professionals, they just have to take part and have fun.
"I've always enjoyed playing this sort of event, after a year of touring around it's nice to come here and have your family here."
The Rise Dance Company crews also put on a show as part of the local performances and dance director and Amazing Race star Carla Beazley said it was the perfect way to finish the year.
"It's nice because you usually see lots of people you know here.
"Most people have finished work and everyone's relaxed.
"It's a great event for all the families to get together at the end of the year. It's the last event of the year and it's the biggest." The dancers performed their hip-hop routines from throughout the year because the style seemed to resonate more with the crowd, she said.
