UPDATE 5.15pm: A car attempting a U-Turn was involved in a collision with another vehicle near McLaren Falls Rd this afternoon.
It is believed nobody suffered any injuries in the collision.
A reporter at the scene said traffic was closed momentarily.
The reporter was informed by a constable at the scene that nearby residents helped clean the scene.
EARLIER: Emergency services are responding to reports of a two-car collision on the Kaimai Range this afternoon.
The car crashed about 4.30pm near Mclaren Falls Rd on State Highway 29, a fire service spokesman said.
It is understood no one is trapped in either vehicle but it is not clear if anyone has been hurt or if the road is blocked.
