Crash near Pongakawa on State Highway 2 in Bay of Plenty: One person seriously injured

One person was seriously injured in a crash on State Highway 2 at Pongokawa.

Police said in a statement they were alerted to the crash about 4.20pm on Wednesday.

“Up to three” vehicles were involved in the incident between Wharere Rd and Benner Rd.

A St John spokesman said three people were taken to hospital including one with serious injuries.

The road was cleared by 9.15pm, police said.
