Tauranga City Council is encouraging people to have their say on the draft 2014/15 Annual Plan which is open for consultation until April 22.

A summary document will be delivered to every home in the city from this weekend.

The 2014/15 draft Annual Plan had a 6.7 per cent general rates increase per property. This included a proposed 4.7 per cent stormwater levy and a 2 per cent rate increase in line with inflation. The draft plan is expected to reduce the council's debt and debt-to-revenue ratio while maintaining an A+ credit rating which should provide favourable lending terms.

Open days are being held around the city where people are invited to meet with the elected members to discuss the draft plan.

Open days:
3pm-6pm Thursday, March 27 Greerton Village Square
11am-2pm Saturday, April 5 Bayfair Shopping Centre
9am-midday Sunday, April 6 Bethlehem Lions Market
11am-2pm Thursday, April 17 Tauranga Waterfront
