About 180 Tauranga City Council staff will move into the old Westpac building on Devonport Rd and the Star building on Durham St while assessments continue on the council building.
In the past two weeks 328 of the council's 520 staff had been moved out of their workspaces because of tests confirming the presence of toxic black mould (stachybotrys) or a fungi called Chrysosporium.
Council are currently in negotiations for additional floor space within the Tauranga CBD on top of the two spaces already secured.
Over the Christmas and New Year period a team of council staff together with Downer have worked on decontaminating various parts of the council building.
Many staff have been relocated in the meantime to various temporary locations while council finalise staff accommodation for the medium-term (6 to 9 months).
